Musicals

As you can see, St. Mary's BNS is a busy place at the best of times! However, the school is never busier than during the lead up to one of our School Musicals. The boys are famous far and wide for their wonderful acting, not to mention their singing. Over the past number of years now, the boys have been putting on such ambitious productions as Oliver, Joseph, Bugsy Malone and the adaptation of Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby, Smike.

More recently, the boys have been lucky enough to have a writers/producers/directors on the staff. Seamus Grundy penned three musicals especially for our school, 2004's Cool Colin, 2005's Finding Christmas and more recently Ask Bernard in 2006. You can see some photos from earlier shows on the right.

In 2009, the boys wowed audiences with Maynooth's Got Talent, penned and directed by our own Mr. Davis.

In June, 2011, our school presented our most elaborate production so far. School of Screams tells the story of a group of boys who begin life in a new school. However, the boys soon learn that the principal is a vampire and that the school is, quite literally, a nightmare!

The show contained some amazing lighting, great songs including two from Michael Jackson and some spectacular dance scenes! Well done to all involved!
